Can Dr. Mandana be my primary care physician?

Avesta telemedicine consultations are designed to complementary to your current care plan with your primary care physician. Dr. Mandana would be happy to discuss your treatments and case with your primary care physician.

What states can Dr. Mandana see patients from?

Currently you can schedule a telemedicine visit with Dr. Mandena if you live in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico or Arizona.

What should I expect during our telemedicine visit?

After we confirm your appointment you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. This questionnaire is vital in helping me determine the best individualized action plan for your condition. The questionnaire must be submitted at least 2 days before your appointment. This gives plenty of time to allow a comprehensive review of your answers before we meet. After our appointment is confirmed you will receive an email with a link. At our designated appointment time all you need to do is click the link and our telemedicine visit will start. Together we will institute a comprehensive plan to help you get to your goals. Labs may be ordered and supplements may be recommended. 

Will I be able to stop my prescription medications?

My goal is to improve your overall health while addressing the specific concerns that brought you to Avesta. Your primary care physician will ultimately be responsible for any changes in your medications. Your health may improved so substantially that your doctor may consider decreasing your reliance on prescription medications. However, this is a conversation that will need to be had between you and your doctor. I am happy to discuss any aspect of your care with your physician.

Does Avesta Medicine accept insurance?

No. We feel the best way to treat you is to keep the relationship between the doctor and the patient. You are welcome to submit a bill to your insurance company for reimbursement. 

How does functional medicine work? Is it based on science?

Functional medicine is a personalized approach towards better health. it encompasses all aspects of an individual in order to develop a personalized plan of care. functional medicine looks at your lifestyle? complete personal history, medications, subelements, stressors come up physical agility, family history, diet and sleep patterns period or recommendations are based on strong scientific data, research and advanced laboratory studies.

What happens after the initial consultation?

At the conclusion of our visit you will receive a personalized plan with specific recommendations. If labs are recommended you will receive those lab kits from the lab directly. You will need to follow the instructions on the lab test and submit it back to the laboratory. If supplements are recommended then you will receive a link from of Avesta, to order those at a discounted price.

Do you prescribe supplements?

After your consultation and laboratory results, I may recommend certain supplements. These are medical grade supplements with good research backing their usage.

Do you have an office?

At this time, Dr. Mandana is only offering my services via telemedicine.
